Summer is a great time to be with family and since my wife and I have sixteen grandkids, we like to spend time with the grandchildren and their parents. This includes going to the lake with them, or hanging with them at a swinging pool. It also means attending a Giants or River Cats game with some of them. To beat the heat on the severe hot days, we love going to the ocean with family too. My wife and I also enjoy doing some wine tasting in the foothills, enjoying a happy hour or taking in a movie on 100+ degree days. After the end of the State of California budget year and all its craziness ends, July through September are great months to dial down some and enjoy beautiful California's amenities.

This summer, I’m heading out on three camping trips with my fiancé, my step-kids, and our dog, Jedediah-Smith. Some of my favorite memories from last year were the ones we made around the campfire, so I’m especially excited for this season—especially now that I feel way more prepared. We’ve upgraded with a hammock, a propane stove, and even a zip line for the dog (because of course we did). My personal goals? To be near water at least once a week and soak up the sun every day. When I’m not out camping, you’ll find me in the garden, hosting backyard BBQs, or buried in a good book. And in between all that? Just casually planning a wedding that’s coming up fast—no pressure at all!

I’m looking forward to taking a little time off soon to escape the Sacramento heat and head up to Lake Tahoe with my family. It’s one of my favorite places to unwind, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and relax by the water. There’s nothing like a few days at the lake to recharge and spend quality time with loved ones.

I am looking forward to a summer jam-packed with adventures and vacations. As a new resident to the Fresno community, I will be exploring their many nearby lakes and rivers! Starting with North America's Largest Inflatable Waterpark at Lake McSwain. Then enjoying my 1 year wedding anniversary with my husband in Vegas. We will be poolside enjoying the sun and Pina Coladas. So, I will be out of office July 7-10 and will be returning that Monday refreshed (& tan) and ready to serve your needs.

What I’m most excited for this summer are all the camping adventures I have planned with the kids. Last year was our first time camping together, and those trips quickly became some of my absolute favorite memories. There’s just something about unplugging, being out in nature, and sharing quiet moments around the fire that brought us all closer. Carter even told me that his favorite memory with me was sitting by the campfire at Dillon Beach—just the two of us, watching the flames and listening to the ocean. It’s moments like that I can’t wait to relive again this year.

This summer, I’m hoping to carve out some time to get out on Lake Natoma for a little paddle boarding and enjoy the peaceful escape it offers. Between working for Acuity, coaching volleyball, and supporting my mom as she bravely battles cancer, life stays pretty full. But I’m aiming to balance it all with some fresh air and movement, whether that’s paddling across the water or getting in a good bike ride to reset and recharge.

Summer is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and engage in both invigorating golfing and refreshing swimming activities. I'm looking forward to hitting the green with my friends, spending time with family at the beach, and the long, hot summer days to come. Summer is always an amazing time of year to make memories that'll last a lifetime, and I'm looking forward to doing just that.
